Manufacturing

Remaining competitive amid the complexity

Given all the factors that impact your operation, producing a product and selling it at a profit often boils down to people and leadership. Our training and coaching programs equip your frontlines for strengthening Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

We structure coaching and training solutions that fit you best.

Competing successfully as a manufacturer isn’t just having the best-made product. You’re juggling customer demands, regulatory oversight and compliance, the supply chain, price volatility, and optimizing for waste reduction and efficiency throughout production. Yet producing a product and selling it at a profit often boils down to people and leadership on your frontlines.

Stability

Changing conditions, regulatory compliance and new work rules call for better control of your operations and processes. Core to TWI Institute programs is proper job instruction and standardization; developing the “one best way” aligns standards with performance.

Elevate Safety

All of a sudden, working isn’t routine. It’s important not only to take specific safety actions in the physical sense of the workplace, but also to address fear and uncertainty in the workforce. All of the TWI Institute programs – TWI training, Kata training and Standardized Work training – help elevate safety.

Skill Up

Have you restructured your workforce? OSHA cautions leaders about skill gaps and threats to productivity due to job sharing, workflow changes and job proficiency deficits. TWI Institute can help close those gaps with reskilling, upskilling, cross training and standardized work.

Continuous Improvement

Make your supervisors and workers change agents for processes and procedures that deliver better and better results.

Step One:
Preparation

We start with an assessment and provide tailored recommendations for your workers and your workplace. KPIs are set, a communication strategy is planned and workforce orientation begins.

Step Two:
Education

Supervisors, team leaders and those who direct the work of others attend, participate and learn in our cornerstone programs: TWI, Kata and Standardized Work.

Step Three:
Adoption

We work with you to plan a pilot program and teams begin to learn by doing. Through workplace practice and coaching, we help students accept the ideas and put them to work. We’re with you through every step of the journey.

Step Four:
Integration

We assess learning, validate pilot results, incorporate skills into routines, evaluate practices and culture, and measure performance against KPIs.

Step Five:
Certification

We execute worker and workplace certifications, including TWI Certification (student and trainer), Kata Certification (student and trainer) Train-the-Trainer Certification, and TWI:2018 Certification.

Step Six:
Continuation

We stay connected with planned reassessments, KPI checks, remedial coaching, and re-certifications to protect and grow your return on investment.
