TWI Train the Trainer

Become a Certified Trainer in TWI programs and gain access to valuable coaching insights.

TWI Institute’s Train-the-Trainer program is one of the most respected certifications in workplace training and development. Originally developed during WWII to rapidly train new factory workers, TWI has become the global standard for frontline workforce development — refined and proven across industries like manufacturing, healthcare, food production, logistics and more.

Participants complete a 40-hour, hands-on course, learning to coach one of four core TWI programs — Job Instruction (JI), Job Relations (JR), Job Methods (JM) or Job Safety (JS). Guided by experienced Master Trainers, you’ll master the method and leave ready to teach it with confidence and precision inside your organization.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Certification in one of TWI’s core programs — with expert guidance and hands-on practice
  • The ability to deliver standardized, effective training across teams and shifts
  • Tools to build internal training capacity and support continuous improvement
  • A scalable system adaptable to your organization’s unique needs

Courses may be held either in person (on-site) or virtually, and are available regularly throughout the year.

This is not a generic “train-the-trainer” program. It’s a Training Within Industry certification that prepares you to deliver consistent, high-impact training that drives results. Fill out the form to learn more.

Recommended Learning Pathway

The following pathway is what we recommend to receive the greatest benefit from TWI. Of course, our team will work with you to build the best plan for your organization’s needs, even if that’s taking just one course.
Learning Pathway Image
Step 1
Job Instruction, Job Relations and Job Safety
Job Instruction (JI), Job Relations (JR) and Job Safety (JS) create a critical foundation for all subsequent skills training and employee management. JI is a great first step, but you may take these courses in any order.
Step 2
Job Methods and Standardized Work
Both Job Methods (JM) and Standardized Work (SW) build upon the J-Suite foundational skills. You may practice JM on its own, or participate in SW, which includes the entirety of the JM curriculum.
Step 3
Problem Solving
TWI Problem Solving (PS) is the last step, offering a systemic approach to identifying issues and determining which of the previous approaches will offer the best solution.

Our Clients Say It Best

We're a manufacturing company but people are the core of our operation. TWI Institute's JR (Job Relations) program brought an emphasis on trust and transparency that built a foundation for a more collaborative and cooperative culture.
