From a 2006 interview, Isao “Ike” Kato, the “father of Standardized Work and Kaizen courses” and a master instructor of TWI material, discusses the influence of TWI on the Toyota Production System and Kaizen. Kato was responsible for introducing TWI into Toyota in the early 1950s under the direction of Taiichi Ohno.
