Training Within Industry and the TWI Institute

The TWI Institute is the center for education, trainer certification, and connections for the TWI community of practitioners and trainers. It has created a large and rapidly expanding network of certified trainers delivering the TWI Program in the United States and across the globe. TWI Programs are successfully used in businesses of all sizes in a variety of industries including manufacturing, construction, services, and healthcare.

Training Within Industry's rich history originated in the United States in the 1940s where the program was an unqualified success, boosting industrial production of war matériel beyond expectations. The Central New York Technology Development Organization, a member of the U.S. Manufacturers Extension Partnership (MEP), successfully reincarnated the original TWI programs in 2001 after which the TWI Institute was formed to oversee the global deployment of the program.
